Composer and jazz musician, Matt Winn formed electronica jazz dance group, D*Note in the early 90's mixing complex jazz harmony and rhythms with soul and drum and bass. 

 

D*Note released two classic albums on Dorado Records, and the eponymously titled D*Note on Virgin Records to five star reviews in The Guardian and The Times. He is also responsible for the first jazz drum and bass collaboration to be released in the US.

 

'Coming Down', the sound track to the same film, was released on Virgin Records in 1997. 'Fuchsia Dog' was released on Channel 4 Recordings in 2001 and Laguna was released in 2006.

Matt continues to write and produce music, regularly releasing on Cafe Del Mar records. The early 90's Baleariac classic 'D*Votion' first released on Babel and featured on Cafe Del Mar 2, continues to stream massive numbers on Spotify. 

Matt also writes score music and currently scoring the music for 'The Trouble With Jessica'.

Matt as a composer / producer has been at the forefront of British musical cutlure, doing what UK creatives do so well; starting new trends. With his filmmaking and specifically, 'The Trouble With Jessica', Matt has found a new voice that is at once British, but much like his music, all his own.
